Fit Studio Set-up
The fit studio is a key merchandising feature of any modern high-end bicycle shop. Here is what your studio should accomplish:
In addition to a Fitmaster, here is a collection of tools handy in any quality fitting environment:

- Measurement tools:
- Tape measure.
- Level
- Goniometer (such as the Fit Kit Smart Goni.
- Fit Kit Quick Fit (or similar body measurement) tools – especially the inseam tool.
- Frame measurement tools (such as the Fit Kit Seat Height tool).
- Recording / Documentation Tools:
- Fit Forms
- Clipboard
- Digital camera
- Trainer for evaluating the client’s existing bike.
- Supplemental parts and accessories:
- Handlebars (preferably with mounted levers) in a variety of widths and styles. Old STI/Ergo levers or tandem stoker levers.
- Saddles – popular choices, mounted on seatposts for easy swapping.
- Stems in a wide range of sizes (or adjustable stem such as the Fit Kit Fit Stem).
- Headset spacers
- Alternate crank lengths (or an adjustable crank).
- Pedals – in popular configurations, including platform and toe-clips as well as clipless.
- Tools:
- 3-4-5mm allen head wrenches for stem/saddle adjustments and maintenance.
- Box end wrench for rear wheel.
- Crank puller if not using adjustable crank.
- Lubricants for sliders and threads.
- Pedal wrench(es).
- Other tools:
- Mirror so the client can see themselves and aid in evaluation.
- Table/chairs for interviewing and for guests.
- Computer with internet access and/or recordkeeping.
- Filing cabinet for fitting records.
